I thought I would start thread on Poem of Month on Food. For February "Dixie Kitchen" by Joe Schrader.

"I sure love southern cookin',
Extra helpings, if you please.
A good old-fashioned bar-b-q,
With greens and black-eyed peas.

You can have your portobellos,
Your brie and raw granola,
Just give me grits and okra,
Pork-chops and RC cola!

Don't need no sissy tofu, Or sprouts with macaroni;
I'd drother sweet- potato pie
Than cheese and pepperoni.

Chicken-fried steak is yummy,
Without twice-baked potatoes;
Just pass that red-eye gravy
With Mom's fried green tomatoes.

You Yankees miss good eatin',
Your taste-buds must be dead;
I'll skip croissants and sushi...
And eat Real food instead!"
