Peanut Brittle

I really like peanut brittle, but I received some from an extra-sticky batch this year. I think maybe they forgot the baking soda. Anyway, I'm told the baking soda keeps it from sticking to your teeth. That's very important!
 
I wondered about that, and was somewhat surprised.

I though vanilla was available worldwide.
Well, we do have vanilla beans in stores, but they are expensive. For everyday use, in cookie dough or desserts we mostly use vanillin sugar. It comes in small packs. About a teaspoonful in each pack. That is inexpensive and ubiquitous. Vanillin is artificial vanilla flavor, but pretty yummy. But most probably much less intense than your vanilla extract.
