Paul Giamatti spotted at Antietam a couple weeks ago

Giamatti is an awesome actor, I'd love to see him in a civil war flick.

William Petersen as Sherman is an interesting choice. But Michael Hall as Ulysses Grant? I can see the 'Grant the Butcher and Dexter the Butcher' comparisons from the Southron side already.

I thnik the cast selections are interesting to say the least.

Walton Goggins as Ewell hopefully they give him enough camera time. Very good actor (justified, the shield in particular)

Country singers, race car drivers....should be interesting at least

Paul Giamatti was terrific as John Adams in the HBO miniseries back in '08. I'm very fascinated by the prospect of him portraying "old, gloomy Pete" Longstreet in this upcoming miniseries. According to Mr. Beckner, the writer for the series, everybody in the cast is really into portraying these characters, and making them as real as possible for a modern audience. I look forward to this series with great anticipation!

God bless!
