I looked around and did not find a thread about this horse, so thought I would post up some info in case someone out there had an interest. Old Fly, (really called just "Fly" during her lifetime) went to war with her owner and remained with him until her death. After her death at an amazing age of 38, her bones were rendered and assembled into a skeleton which is on display at the Workingman's Institute (a library and museum) in New Harmony Indiana. A few years ago someone wrote a book called "Fly Like The Wind" which tells the story of the horses adventerous life. Here is the book link:
