Is this a 1950-1960 reproduction? Please be gentle. It's my first time. Thanks.

As my old collecting mentor, the late Robert Justice, used to say, "There are FAKES and there are BLATANT FAKES." To be gentle, yours is a very recent reproduction that really wasn't made to fool anybody - it's too bad for that - but is more a souvenir or decorator item that might've belonged to an undiscriminating collector or reenactor. Welcome to the forums anyway!

Welcome From THE Heart Of Dixie.

I second Package4's comment, and would like to add that James N. was very gentle! But......Welcome to this forum where you can find a wealth of information from many long time collectors, enthusiasts, and students of this stuff who are willing to share what they know and have learned through their years of experience in the field.

Recent reproduction. This is commonly known or referred to as the Shelby Sword, since it is roughly based on and copied the basic pattern of one that was carried by Jo' Shelby. Lots of these out there that have been reproduced at least for 25+ years and still being made.
