Why do you keep looking on eBay after everything that you have been warned about from members here who are trying to help you? Stick with known trusted dealers. There are quite a few who you can buy from and never have to worry about if your purchase is real or fake garbage. You are learning a lot with the questions you ask but realize there is no way to fully vet this stuff when you buy from someone who either knowingly misrepresents or speculates that what they have is real.

I have no ambitions to purchase this or any other civil war stuff on eBay I think it just looks interesting and wanted to know more about it because I am interested in Vmi history.

Larry Hicklen (Mid Tennessee Relics), Rafael Eledge (Shiloh Relics), and Brian Akins (Rebel Relics) are my top 3 that I buy from. Unless you really know your stuff and what to look for, I would only buy from reputable sellers.
