That picture was beyond the 60 day window on June 19th, 2013 at 6:49PM entered because of the sunrise/sunset desire. On that particular day I was trying to capture the Union lines as they might appear backlit just after Day 1

I do go to Gettysburg frequently so I don't want people to think I was cheating! I was just doing something else this year.

This is confusing - is the "within the last 60 days" requirement waived because of the subject requirement ( since likely nobody was thinking of such when taking photos during the last two months! ) like in pamc153PA's post above or not???

If it is, I'll submit this one I just posted elsewhere showing a sunrise at Gettysburg in July, 1998 during the 135th.

I'll wave the time limit requirement for this month, but please do send me a private conversation in the future.

Over the next few months I will be asking for "special" photos. The idea is to prompt people to go out and take some pictures.

Good idea in theory, especially when you live in or near The Seat of War. Here in North Texas, however, the nearest Civil War site is about 60 - 70 miles away and the nearest significant or photogenic one's a couple of hundred! This summer, however, I plan on my first visit to Gettysburg, Antietam, and Harper's Ferry in 16 years or more so will hopefully "stock up" on appropriate subject matter!

oh and as long as you send me a pm, I take everyone's photos. I'm not trying to play hard ball. just want to avoid old scanned copies

to elaborate - I am waiving the 60 day restriction, we are still only going to have voting on sunrise/sunset photos. Those photos have to fit my criteria of what I consider a sunrise or sunset.

remember this is to be fun.
