November 16, 1864 - Some historians use this date as the start of the March to the Sea. By this time Sherman had marched almost 100 miles, destroyed all or part of Rome, Cartersville and Marietta, Georgia and torn up all the Western and Atlanta track between Dalton and Atlanta.

Battle of Campbell's Station:
Today marks the 158th​ anniversary of the Battle of Campbell's Station. This battle was fought in Knox County Tennessee. The result of this battle was a union victory. Union Army commander was Major General Ambrose Burnside. Union army casualties and losses was around 400. Confederate army commander was Lt. General James Longstreet. Confederate army casualties and losses was around 570.
