SIM Game New Civil War Video Game: Ultimate General: Gettysburg

Might have to take a look at this.

I wish they would do something like Total War for the Civil War. Closest thing I've found is Forge of Freedom. I know that company has put out something more recently but I've not played it.

They do have two Civil War mods for Total War. There's "North & South - The American Civil War" for Napoleon Total War, and "American Civil War - The Blue and the Grey" for Empire Total War. The one for Empire Total War has a campaign with it and I would highly recommend it over the North & South for Napoleon Total War.

One thing you might not know.
One of the most popular mods for the original Rome, Medieval II, Shogun II, Empire and Napoleon ... the "darth mods" was "organized" by one guy. (he didn't do all the work, but was the "drive" behind them)
One of the things de did was to make the AI a lot better.

But with Rome 2, that made modding a lot harder, he basically asked himself. why mod the rather poor job made by the Total war team... when he can do better himself...

And for anyone who decide to look at it. please remember that is is still not a finished game... things will change at things will improve.

It's been mentioned on another gaming thread but Take Command: Second Manassas is still available and has several, several modded maps that can be added. I think it was only $5 the last time I looked.

unless he meant "Take Command: Second Manassas"???

Iam not sure, since I dont think there is a demo for "Ultimate General: Gettysburg"?

The same mod team that created the other two mods is currently working on one for Shogun 2.

I actually contacted the guy working on the N&S mod for NTW and he let me do a bit of testing for his next big update, which will include more maps and scenarios like Chickamauga, Stones River, etc. Even though it may not have a campaign, the scenarios definitely make up for it. The N&S mod has for the most part been created by one modder, but his scenario maps are probably some of the best historical maps ever created in a mod.

As, yes, the other mods for Shogun. I've worked with Hinkel in the past on several other projects. He's a great developer of ACW stuff. Especially since he's all the way in Germany!

Any of you guys play multiplayer on here yet? Looking for people to play

I know this thread is a few years old but I just downloaded this last week and really like it. Would be up for a multiplayer so pm if you'd like to play across the Atlantic. Bear in mind the at least 5 hour time difference though! Been a few years since I played pc war games and forgot how intense and time consuming they can be.
