Great looking piece. I have only seen one other and it was in a museum.
 
In 1966 while in Boot camp, I remember your Diddy Bag had to be tied with a certain Knot and at the foot of your Rack on the left side, or suffer demerits from the Company Commander. :frown:
I remember in the early 1960s using my dad's white canvas WWII issue seabag to haul stuff to camp. Why not? name was already stenciled on it! metal grommets for the ties instead of stitched holes

I still have my late father's sea bag with his ship and his name stenciled on it . He served in the Pacific in WW2 . I will keep that and I have some one else in the family I can pass it down to .
