A young collector wanted my early Inland M1A1 Carbine and I told him it was not for sale.
I suggested that he find me something interesting to trade. This is what he found.

It came with this family story---'A Winter Tale'

I got the death certificate from James Samuel Winter's grandson in England.

My second trade was with the same young collector as above on September 1 2013.
This Remington-Rider New Model Belt Revolver was found in an old Mexican safety deposit box.
My young collector friend got it from the fellow that inherited the safety deposit box.
There were four other pistols in the box.

I would make the M1A1 for the Colt trade every day and twice on Sunday.

I had two M1860 Colt Army Revolvers---I kept the best one and traded the one shown below for the M1863 Starr S/A Army Revolver seen below.

The trade was done on March 9 2019 following a local gun show.
I saw the Starr on the fellows table and asked if he would be interested in a trade.
After the show he came by my house on his way home and the trade was made---he lived quite far away.

These were not trades.
They were my last two handgun purchases.
The Whitney was my first purchase from Ancestry Guns----I was very impressed with how the gun was packaged.

That is one of the best Whitneys I have ever seen, especially with the cylinder scene intact. Most have no cylinder scene at all left. I have an 1862 Whitney Navy with all matching numbers, good patina, no cylinder scene, and mechanically good, but with a light mainspring. Outstanding Whitney!! I enjoyed seeing it.

I have the same book. I sent pictures of my Whitney to the author Mr. Williams and he gave me his stamp of approval on it. He is a very likeable fellow.
