Like Robert Lee ever had as off a hair day as this fellow, no doubt a very nice man with a terrific story, if we but knew- part of the problem with connecting someone to a famous name. 3000 bucks, forgot to look to see if there's free shipping.

To be fair, no one is selling this as positively identified- it's one of those ' Maybe's, with question mark. For 3,000 bucks, you'd hope it would be at least his borrowed shoulder boards. Someone with more experience in photos please correct me, but have not previously run into a head scratcher Lee photo. It's generally a kinda-sorta-maybe- and for 10K better be Lincoln.

As ever, the worst feature would be who is he and what was his story? Gets lost in these scrambles for famous folks.

That's right. $1,000,000.00 shipping!

That's hysterical. It is a whole night's entertainment browsing listings- albeit sometimes infuriating. There was a flurry of posting any era photo whatsoever of a black civilian as ' slave '- nice, family photos, baby pictures, those dapper young men flaunting wonderful waistcoats and top hats, women posing in point lace collars and stiff brocades- described as ' slaves '. There may or may not have been a write-in campaign which may or may not have succeeded. They seem to have knocked it off.
