Members of the local Mormon congregations gathered recently with St. Mark's United Methodist Church parishioners for a labor-intensive project at the Stones River National Battlefield location off Northwest Broad Street.

Battlefield staff members struggle to keep the national park as natural and native as possible.

Not the least bit surprising--I live in a community that is about 50% LDS for almost 50 years and they have always been very community involved with their projects--wonderful folks and wonderful to live among. Even for a non-member Methodist like myself. Good for those two groups making that beautiful battlefield look better.

It is good to see different groups come together for such a good project that needed to be done. Thank you to both groups and for their labor intensive efforts.
