It was Johnston's wounding that made him transfer to Longstreet's staff in time for the Seven Days. From the summer of 1862 to the fall of 1864 Moore was engaged mainly in court-martial duty.
 
I'm pleased to say that the Friends of Shockoe Hill Cemetery, with the support of the Society of the Order of the Southern Cross, placed an interpretive marker at Gen. Moore's gravesite in 2020. Visitors can gain some insight into the Cemetery's only general officer.
