Last week Monday fell on July 1, so it was only natural to feature Gettysburg Battlefield's monuments dedicated to the action occurring on the first day of the battle, and there were some outstanding contributions from other members of the forums! Before getting too far away from the anniversary of the great battle, it seemed only natural to move to the actions of the second day, and here are some photos from my last two visits showing regimental and other - like the well-known statue of Maj. Gen. G. K. Warren above - monuments on and around Little Round Top.

Of course these days in the wake of the film Gettysburg that of the Twentieth Maine has become the most-visited, enough so that it now has its own access road seen in the background! At least our former member cash was good enough during the 2017 September to Remember CWT Gathering to lead a party of us to the far less-visited accompanying monument showing the position held by the 20th Maine's Co. B. below at a low stone wall to the east of LRT.

Other regimental monuments line the park road leading up and down LRT like that of the 10th Massachusetts above and 121st New York below, both belonging to the Sixth Corps which was positioned here following the battle of July 2.

The monument above is topped by a statue of Fifth Corps brigade commander Col. Strong Vincent who fell here; below, another of the corps' regiments has their monument on the summit of Little Round Top.
