what is happening in Hunstville on Nov. 14?
The annual symposium for HTBAR.
Please provide more details when you can.
Please do provide the info. Thinking I might wanna do that. I checked out the site. It doesn't seem to be updated. There were some good pics.
Martha has been pretty busy...but if you will get on the emailing list, you'll be fi rst to know. It will be at the Sam Houston Memorial Museum. Activities begin around 4 pm on Friday. The majority of folks stay at the Holiday Inn Express. Hope this helps.
Might do that. Huntsville is a 1.25 hour drive from my house. If I can't swing a weekend trip to Vicksburg in October, a weekend in Huntsville in November is probably a certainty. Gonna hit the Texas Heritage Museum in Hillsboro on 11/20 too.
I highly recommend it. I think I've gone since (give or take) 2008. You can't beat the speakers. I assume Rick Eisermann and Dr. Ural will be there. Mrs. Herzog hasn't let us know who else is on the agenda yet. If you can swing by sometime and make an appointment to visit the Thomason Reading Room at SHSU, it will be well worth your time. (He was the grandson of T.J. Goree).
I emailed her yesterday and she emailed me back same day with a flyer. Probably can only make the Saturday session if I can go.
Wow. Go if you possibly can. Please take notes and post them for us!
Looks like another excellent symposium. We'll be there, for sure (already got my day off approved!)
Has anyone thought about taping these symposiums for those who can't attend in person?
Excellent. If I get to go,I'll private message you my cellphone number.
Just a reminder....Hood's Brigade is this coming weekend, Nov. 13-14, and we'll be represented. bdtex is also going. Anyone else?
Hello, would you happen to have a larger photo of Captain Winkler? I am editing a book about Hood's Brigade at Sharpsburg, and with your permission, would like to use the photo you have of your namesake for the book. If you can send me a larger photo, that would be outstanding. I of course, will make sure and give you credit as the source of the photo...Thanks
PM me your email and I'll be happy to do so.
Does this book have a name yet?
The tentative name is Texans at Antietam; A terrible clash of arms. September 16-17, 1862.
Looking forward to it. Reading my first book about Antietam as we "speak".
Wow, great to hear! I was wondering if Antietam or Chickamauga would be your next book after "Texans at Gettysburg," but I didn't think I would get the answer this soon!
Separate names with a comma.
