The app, now available for download in the iTunes store as “Bull Run HD,” enables users to experience the first major land battle of the American Civil War in an unprecedented way. Although versions of each previous app are compatible with both Apple and Android devices, the release of the new format provides enhanced features for iPad users. Like its predecessors, the iPad app features include a detailed, GPS-enabled, battlefield map highlighting a wealth of virtual signs and other points of interest. Within this extensive offering are videos from top historians, primary source audio recreations, detailed accounts of the battle, modern and historic photos, and a detailed set of reference materials.
