Somehow, it's hard for me to care very much since all that is very post-war and evidently according to the article little remains of the Civil War-vintage engine.
I saw the Texas many years ago. I know they wanted to restore it, but the 1880's appearance is not so relevant to me because it is still going to be in place at the restored Atlanta Cyclorama again. A site whose focus is the war. The locomotive was preserved because of it's Civil War actions, not it's peacetime actions.
