Alexander Gardner's crew recorded this fantastic panorama of Little Round Top from right in front of the big rocks of Devil's Den. This is exactly how the soldiers saw the hill just three days before. I have labeled where some of the modern landmarks are along the summit. If interested in comparing to a similar contemporary view, check out my post on the Contemporary Photos of Civil War Sites & Events.

Thanks for posting this! I can imagine the Confederate soldiers looking at this on July 2nd and saying, "You want me to climb what now?!"

WOW!!! That looks daunting and ominous. A penny for the Confederate's thoughts......

"Uh, Colonel, sir? I just remembered...I left something....back there......someplace. It's really, really important. I promise, I'll be right back! Pinky swear."

Thanks! Great perspective with the units plugged in. "Worst ground I ever saw."
