Abraham Lincoln was elected to his second term in office on this date November 8th, 1864. Although his second term was short lived he may have had one of the greatest moments of his presidency happen with the second inaugural address. Do you feel that the second inaugural address was one of his best speeches? Do you feel it gave solid direction for what would be a short second term in office?

I think that the second inaugural address perhaps the second best speech of Lincoln's career after the Gettysburg Address. I think that it gave a clear direction as to where he was going in his second term. Too bad that his second term was cut short due to an assassin's bullet.
