Died November 12 1886, Richmond VA
Pre-War Profession Salesman.
War Service 1861 Recruited Augusta Lee Guards (36th Virginia) - Capt., Western Virginia, McDowell, Shenandoah Valley campaign, Cedar Mountain, Second Manassas, Sharpsburg, Maj., served with Imboden in Western Virginia, Gettysburg campaign, Lt. Col., Mine Run, Wilderness, Spotsylvania, May 1864 Brig. Gen., commanded Early's old brigade in Early's Washington raid, Stephenson's Depot (w,c), freed after four days, commanded reserve forces in Shenandoah Valley.
Post War Career Financial agent for Washington College.
