If a similar thread has already been posted I do apologize but I have always been interested in the lesser known places around that people have discovered whether it is a sight of a skirmish that doesn't make it into books or the homes, churches or gravesites tied to the civil war one for me is union mills homestead in silver run maryland south of Gettysburg where two brothers occupied opposite sides of the road to there family mill and also opposite loyalties one brother gave four of his sons (ancestors of mine)to the southern army while is brother a slaveholding unionist had one son in the yankee army each brother also gave aid to there army of there choice as they marched north to gettysburg I would like to hear y'alls similar stories and locations for people to get the opportunity to stop and see
