This article takes a look at some leather cases for holding, storing and transporting pinfire cartridges. Since pinfire cartridges had to be handled with a little more care than other types of cartridges, some people purchased pouches such as these shown to make it safer and more convenient to carry the cartridges.

Think anything like these were used in the American Civil War?

Interesting article. I'm sure when you bought a pinfire pistol they would up sell you cartridge carrier as I'm sure it was needed.

Officers were required to provide their own gear so I can see an officer with one but I don't believe the Cav that were issued pinfires were issued anything other than standard govt issue pistol cartridge boxes.

Cant remember..........something, now what was it.......Lately I've been suffering with Rice Crispies Disease. Whenever I get up I can hear and feel everything going SNAP, CRACKLE AND POP
