The National Civil War Naval Museum, which tells the story of the Sailors, Soldiers, and Civilians, both Free and Enslaved as affected by the Navies of the American Civil War, is hosting the fun and enriching program, “Cool History: The Capture of the Water Witch”. On Saturday, June 13, from 11:00 AM to 3:30 PM, families are invited to participate in this unique experience, all while learning about The Water Witch. This full-scale ship replica is housed on the grounds of the museum and is a symbol of the mission as it served on both sides of the Civil War Navies. During the Civil War while stationed at Savannah, the ship was captured by Confederate Naval forces in a daring nighttime raid.
