Making it’s inaugural flight on June 24th the Confederate's second balloon, the "Gazelle", was captured by the crew of the USS Maratanza when the CSS Teaser ran aground on a James River sandbar 11 days later on July 4th, 1862

Just for clarification
The Maratanza fired a shot which blew up the Teaser's boiler, forcing its abandonment. The Teaser did not simply run aground on a sandbar.
