Rev. Horatio S. Howell Memorial, Gettysburg.

Howell Memorial - 90th PA - Christ Lutheran Church, Gettysburg.jpg

Christ Lutheran Church served as a Union hospital during the Battle of Gettysburg. As retreating Union soldiers flooded into town on July 1, 1863, intense fighting erupted in the streets. The Rev. Horatio Howell, chaplain of the 90th Pennsylvania Volunteers, stepped out the church's front doors to investigate the source of the commotion. He was met by a Confederate soldier standing at the bottom step, who demanded his surrender and sword. Howell attempted to explain that he was a noncombatant, but the soldier fired nonetheless, killing Howell. The bronze memorial stands at the approximate location from which the Confederate soldier fired. (Photo taken June 2015)

I thought I'd go for something that really changed the perspective.

This is Sach's Bridge, reflected in Rock Creek, taken on June 13, 2015, around 6 o'clock p.m. To give those of you who don't know what the bridge looks like right-side up, here is another photo, including the reflection.
