One biography of his states that he was "found wanting" in the field duty department and given command in Kentucky and Tennessee. His division is the one not taken along on the Atlanta Campaign. These commands basically meant administrative duties for the balance of the war.

Certainly. Castel chastized Judah heavily for his actions at Reseca.
