Gen., commanded W E Jones’ Cavalry Bde in Early's Washington raid, executed the order to burn Chambersburg, Shenandoah Valley campaign, prison duty.

Notes He was passed over for promotion to Brig. Gen. probably because of the lack of Maryland units.
