I couldn't find another thread about this man on the site. I was reading up on the battle of Munfordville and found his interaction with Maj. Gen. Simon Buckner there an interesting story. After his surrender there he spent a short while in a confederate prisoner camp. Then upon returning to command he decided to equip his troops with Spencer rifles. His bio is worth a look. He is buried in forest hills cemetery Chattanooga Tennessee.
