On a scale of 1-10, with 1 being "total incompetent" and 10 being "military genius", how do you rate John C. Breckinridge as a military commander?

He has his good days, such as New Market, Monocacy. He has his bad days, such as Missionary Ridge. He had innovative ideas, such as the plan to retake Baton Rogue with naval support. He seems to have learned the trade as he went along and I think he did have a natural talent for it, despite his lack of any military education before the war. I give him a 6.75.

What do you think?
