1854-Douglas releases the Nebraska act with two significant changes.Kansas and Nebraska will be formed and the Missouri Compromise is superceded and inoperative.
1862-the blockade runner Calhoun,is captured by federal vessels,near New Orleans,La..
A third stone fleet is sunk outside of Charleston Harbor.
1863-Skirmish at Carthage,Tn.
Skirmish on the Bradyville Pike,near Murfreesboro,Tn.
Federal action from Fayetteville to Van Buren,Ak. With the capture of the rebel steamer,Julia Roan,along with 200 Confederate men.
Due to frust ration with the weather Maj.Gen.Ambrose E.Burnside,issues orders to remove his subordinate commanders,Maj.Gen.Joseph Hooker,Maj.Gen.William B.Franklin,Brig.Gen.John Newton and Brig.Gen.William T. Brooks.these orders were never approved by President Lincoln which helped in ruining Burnside career.
1864-Trade restrictions lifted in Missouri and Kentucky.
Skirmishes at the following places in Northwestern Arkansas,Bailey's at Crooked Creek,Burrowsville,Rolling Prairie,and Cows kin Bottom.
1865-Lt.Gen.Richard Taylor assumes command of Army of Tennessee.
Skirmish with guerrillas at Thompson's Plantation near Donaldsonville,La.
1867-Indiana ratifies the 14th Admendment.
