this thread makes me wonder why today would be chosen as Peach Melba Day, when fresh peaches and raspberries, although available in grocery stores at a premium price, are not in season. To me this is a summer dish. But then, I am usually out of step with the rest of the world.
Could it be that peaches are ripe in Australia right now?

Have to check where peaches are ripe.
According to a website run by the State of Victoria, peach season in Australia is November through March. So we're right in the middle.

But I bet that Aussie fruit can't touch the taste of our Georgia peaches :smile:

Thanks for finding out about peaches in Australia.
Oh I'm the queen of finding out essentially useless facts. And then remembering them so I can pull them out at odd times. And meanwhile forgetting things that might actually be useful in my life <sigh>.
