was that before they fired on Fort Sumter or after. Maybe Robert E Lee was on the wrong side.

Lets see Fort Sumter was 1861 and this was published 1862. Robert E Lee chose the right side. It pays to be prepared.

Correct me if I am wrong, but we used to see white lumps that would form by themselves in the piles of horse manure as it rotted down. My humble understanding is the the white lumps were potassium nitrate (salt petre)
