Inspiration for wargaming Fort Fisher

So Army University Press posted this neato map of each gun's arc-of-fire, hi-rez enough that it could be printed out and used as a template for 1:1200 naval actions or just inspiration for combined arms games, any scale.


Went looking for 'more' on that, found this West Point battle study that includes OOBs.
 
That's some detail.
I've seen some go so far as to represent artillery "cones" of fire with cut plastic. Not having that much skill or patience I might use a ruler along a protractor (from the position of the battery up to 5° to either side of 90 a die roll is more effective than outside this, ineffective after 20°, or something like that...)
