Indian Wars Era Frock Coat Original?

I saw this frock coat for sale recently and was curious as to its authenticity. The seller claimed it was an Indian Wars era frock coat, but it seemed kind of off. The lining wasn’t quilted and the buttons weren’t staff buttons, but since I’m not as familiar with the post-war period, I could be off in my assessment. Can anybody give some clarity as to its authenticity. Thanks

You are correct on the buttons but the pattern is correct for a general. I'm going to page our uniform guru @Package4 and I'm pretty sure he is going to want to see the button holes and the inside if the cuff.

Paging @Package4

There is indeed some things that look off. Especially the red background shoulder straps. I don't know about Indian Wars, but last I checked General officers were staff officers and therefor dark blue backing. Even in the Indian Wars I'm sure.

This is the best I could do for the button holes. I couldn’t get pictures of the inside cuff, unfortunately.
