I am so, so selfishly bummed. Terry turned me on to Ambrose Bierce, and I have a feeling that when Terry gets used to his new surroundings, he will be looking up Bierce in heaven's white pages. I'm happy for Terry and know he truly is Glorybound - pretty bummed for me.
This is not sinking in, how can GB be gone? Life is so fragile, so unpredictable and sadly very short. Lee will be missed that is for sure.
Pray for his loved ones who must carry on. Rejoice that we knew him.
Gods Speed Lee.
My condolences to his family and all the members here. I'm too new on the forum to have had a chance to get to know him well, but from the short amount of time I was able to talk to him it was clear on how great of a fellow he was. May he rest in peace.
"Death is Nothing at All"
Death is nothing at all.
I have only slipped away to the next room.
I am I and you are you.
Whatever we were to each other,
That, we still are.
Call me by my old familiar name.
Speak to me in the easy way
which you always used.
Put no difference into your tone.
Wear no forced air of solemnity or sorrow.
Laugh as we always laughed
at the little jokes we enjoyed together.
Play, smile, think of me. Pray for me.
Let my name be ever the household word
that it always was.
Let it be spoken without effect.
Without the trace of a shadow on it.
Life means all that it ever meant.
It is the same that it ever was.
There is absolute unbroken continuity.
Why should I be out of mind
because I am out of sight?
I am but waiting for you.
For an interval.
Somewhere. Very near.
Just around the corner.
