Hot Milk Cake is another old time favorite. It is easy and requires only the basic ingredients. It is a cake from my Granny's family.

1 stick oleo
1 cup milk
3 eggs
2 cups sugar
2 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon vanilla

In saucepan heat in milk and oleo until oleo is melted. Set aside. Beat eggs, add sugar, 1 cup at a time, then flour, 1 cup at a time. Add melted oleo and milk and mix. Add baking powder and vanilla. Mix all well. Bake cake in greased and floured tube pan at 350 degrees for 45 to 50 minutes. Cool in pan for 10 minutes, When cooled, sprinkle with powdered sugar.

Hot Milk Cake is the best!! My grandmother gave my wife the recipe many many years ago. My grandma would make two cakes, and add a chocolate icing that hardens when it cools between the layers and on top and sides, so it creates this layer of shiny chocolate goodness all over. My wife swears my grandma left out a step to create that icing, because she struggles to get it right. Grandma didnt want anyone doing it better than she did!
