I saw this book on Amazon Kindle for only $2.99. Anyone read it or recommend it? Seems like a pretty good price. Only 4 reviews but they seem pretty positive.

As a relatively new member of Hood's Texas Brigade Association Re-activated(HTBAR),I've seen that book and seen/heard excerpts from it. My recollection is that he was very active in the original Hood's Texas Brigade Association and was very involved in the planning/design/fundraising for the Hood's Texas Brigade Monument in Austin,TX. Another book added to to the shopping cart. :D

It can be read online for free here: https://archive.org/stream/cu31924032778817#page/n15/mode/2up

And yes, would definitely recommend it. One of the best postwar unit histories out there. Though for a more modern history of the brigade I'd recommend Simpson's or Williams'. In describing battles and movements Polley often quotes directly from official reports and reminiscence of participants, so it doesn't always read as thoroughly as the modern histories do; but its still well worth checking out, especially for some of the first hand accounts included.

Have I pestered you about this yet?
