And some folks very familiar with Wheeler and those folks. Be patient--someone will know. Can we ask why? Might help us direct you to the right person.

I have an ancestor who was in the regiment, all I've found for him is info on enlistment and a record in Alabama archive stating he was paroled at Nashville sometime in '65.So a muster roll with him would be helpful as well as some info on the regiment's actions. His twin brother who is my direct ancestor was in a TN Union cavalry regiment would be interesting to see if they ever opposed one another.

Probably the most certain way to get some attention is to post his name and what you know in the Ancestor's forum and state what you're looking for. Those expert guys hang around looking there; these intro threads move off the radar pretty quickly, so they get missed sometimes.

Third Confederate Cavalry Regiment

The 3rd Confederate Cavalry [aka: 11th Cavalry] was another of Gen'l Wheeler's commands for the greater part of the war. Seven of the companies were Alabamians and included the cavalry battalionn of Major W. N. Estes which merged into the 3rd. The regiment operated around the Army of Tennessee, and was in several battles and raids, and in innumerable skirmishes. I'm not finding anything in the way of muster rolls, if you could narrow it down to what you're looking for it might make the search more focused.
