Help! Train Wreck & Burials Barnesville GA Sept, 1, 1864

I think some that survived the crash may have only lived a few days, but some have the wrong date of death.

Wait I can read the top of the page. So all of these men were already there and would not have been in the train wreck on Sept 1, 1864. Darn! I saw a Howard. Thought I had finally find one guy that has been a puzzle to me for years. Thanks![/QUOTE]
I am sorry I cant find more. Mrs Lynn Ballard Cunningham is my only resource for Pike County https://www.facebook.com/groups/164655533910694/

Thank you for all of your help. That facebook page is very controlled and not public. Mrs. Cunningham is wonderful also on find a grave. The guy that is a puzzle is Willie Gray Howard. I am thinking he might be from the SC troops that were on the train. Thanks again! Much appreciated!

THE CEMETERY IS SAFE FOR NOW. WE WON AND THE CITY DID NOT GET A PERMIT TO DIG UP ANYONE, INCLUDING THE MASS GRAVE OF SOLDIERS!!!!!!

We are still working hard to find the names of the brave men buried in the mass grave, so any help is appreciated!

EXCITING ANNOUNCEMENT!!!! There is going to be a book written on the train collision and the men on the train who lived and died. It will be written by civil war historian Barry Brown and Wadsworth-Clayton cemetery historian Cynthia Wadsworth, aka alabamaspitfire here. Will keep you updated.
