I'm about to place a wanted ad for my first musket/rifle but would like some opinions on which to get. My unit says any .69 or .58 Springfield or a .58 Enfield, as long as it has 3 bands.

As far as looks go I much prefer the Springfields over the Enfield, but for feel, they are about the same.

Amen on all counts. For lots of reasons the Pedersoli is worth the extra $ upfront.
Do you know if The current pedrsoli m1861 offering is their pre euroarms acquisition or are they using the euroarms offering? Lodgewood has a pedersoli m1861 for $750. If the euroarms it isn't worth it but if the pedersoli...

The Pedersoli US 1861 is the Euroarms except finished to Pedersoli specs. Same tooling, etc. The stock is US walnut so the overall weight is slightly less than the old Euroarms version, but otherwise identical. This is not necessarily a bad thing by the way, the Euroarms US 1861 was very decent reproduction, just too heavy.
