The day was hot but fun in Galena IL with lots of energy for the battle. The pictures also include a "surgery" and "embalming" of a wounded soldier who purchased embalming in advance. Note the giant piece of shrapnel. Poor guy didn't make it. The good doctor sticks his finger right in the wound. The embalmer puts a tube under the clavicle to put in the embalming fluid, one near the pelvis to let out the blood and one in the stomach to let out the gas that accumulates. The fellow will then be shipped home to his loved ones. It was a fun time. Tons of scout troops attended.
