I am here.( Thurs. ) It was tough traveling. There's 4+ inches on the ground. O'Rourkes was all that was open for food which was fine, Rubin and all. Lol.
Well, Remembrance Day came and went without a hitch! Thanks to all the extra security that was out in force and for all the protective measures the city took to keep everybody safe and the event running smoothly. Everyone I know had a great time, and as always found the event to be meaningful and enjoyable. If you couldn't make it this time, see you next year!
Here's a narrated video of the parade part of the event, as the various units entered the main parade route:
Ever seen six mounted buglers on white horses playing at the same time? We had them in the parade! The 6th Ohio Mounted buglers. It's amazing how much time money and effort people put into this hobby!
We had a great weekend that started on Thursday. My significant other bought a painting and met John Paul Strain, .O'Rourkes, the ball, Farnsworth Tavern, Parade, then Gary Owens. Oh, and the goodies I bought at The Horse Soldier and Union Drummer Boy. Yes it was a great weekend.
Many thanks to everyone for posting photos and @Claude Bauer for sharing the vids! I really enjoyed watching the parade. And how great to see so many children marching with the various groups.
