Join us and view many original photographs taken during the war that have not been widely available to the public! In the episode, you will learn the story of George Houghton, a Civil War era photographer, that joined the soldiers in the field. While watching his story you will get to see many of his photographs along with some other not often seen images. Any images not Houghton’s will be marked so you know which are his artistic work.

Thank you for this very well done and informative video. The museum curator and the interviewer both interacted and presented their material splendidly. Little known photographer George Houghton took many well composed images of soldier life in the field that rival the best photographers of the war, in my opinion.

Yes, thank you! We've tended to accept Brady, Gardner and O'Sullivan as the only guys who were there- other names get lost. Thanks for featuring Houghton- some images of his are iconic and it was years before I knew whose work they were.
