Longstreet General Longstreet’s 1904 Funeral procession

Growing up, my Grandparents had good friends (whose husband was descended from CSA General Wofford) lived in Gainesville and whenever we visited; a tour of the Longstreet sites was always in order.

Paging @lelliott19, as she will be interested in your (or your grandparents, or your grandparent's friends) connection with Genl. Wofford...
(sorry for the deviation)

Thanks again, I'm sure, wherever the spirit of Longstreet hovered that day, he would be satisfied to know that there was "a crush so great that the ceremonies were delayed an hour".
May he rest in peace.

I appreciate this post. Thank you !
My great×4 grand father,Captain John M Venable,CSA, GA 16th Co. B ,was buried in Alta Vista cemetary on April 6th 1910. I have poured over every picture, trying to find his likeness. I have every reason to believe he was in attendance that day.
My regards to you,
Marc Champagne
