Fort Skedaddle This "installation" was a Confederate earthwork erected close to Munson's Hill within view of Washington D.C.; it was named following the July 17, 1861, battle of First Bull Run ( First Manassas ) by German immigrants in a Federal regiment.

From: "Webb Garrison's Civil War Dictionary" by Webb Garrison Sr, page 111.

And I just saw a video on ITunesU about how JEB Stuart kept George McClellan sitting and waiting for 2 months at this installation at Munson's Hill. And when Stuart finally left the earthworks all the yankees found were quaker guns, logs painted black to look like cannon. And JEB got his promotion.
