Now that you point it out, it does. I have been to Fort Fisher, and now a lot of grass inside. Back then it may have been more sandy.

That is a good look Robert. I would guess it was the color of the sand.

I have heard it could take like 15 lbs of powder, and throw the projectile with some accuracy or else they wouldn't use it something like 2 and a half miles. A gun at Ft Clinch in Florida hit a train steaming away at beyond a mile and a half.
