The stone fort was 1750-1770, it replaced a wood one from 1720. The only thing orginal is the triangle powder magazine, it's the oldest structure in Illinois

No just the magazine and foundation ruins would have existed during the CW, the majority of the structure was recreated in the 30's by CCC/WPA

It's north of Island No 10 about 100 miles, and on the Illinois side of river

Even less remained of Fort Kaskaskia, just a series of swells from earthworks

Its been a long time since I have been there. When I was young my grandfather would take me there. He was a reenactor for French and Indian war weekends there. Thanks for the pics!
