Was he a redhead as a child? I was until I was about 10, when it rather suddenly "browned-out." When my beard started to grew, it came in red. By my mid-20s everything was fast turning grey. Never considered dye.
Being a keen motorcycle rider I never describe my hair as grey, I describe it as go faster chrome.

Let me just say hormones, or the lack of them, are not always our friend
Exactly. Though luckily they got that taken care of, the facial hair is permanent.... dang endocrine disorder.

Nope. He's had brown his whole life. I'm the only one who was born with a different hair color, I was blond and then progressively darkened as I got older.

Dang! is right. Glad they got the other sorted, Brooke.

I was the same and so were my children. Think that's pretty common, too, though they do say dark haired people will go grey when they get older and blondes will go white. I'm still waiting to see the eventual outcome :D

Never considered dye.

You're very wise. Why it's the case I have no idea because really, who cares or notices when we girls do it but men's efforts to discourage gray hair tend to turn out poorly.

Having said that, some marketing genius around 20 years ago came out with a Box 'O Color called " Natural Blond '. WELL. Anyone asks " Are you? " it's possible to state with almost a straight face " Natural blond? pfffft, heck yea ". Grow old gracefully, no thank you.

So far my few strands are more white than gray.... I was actually blond for year, like I think 13-ish was the first time my hair would have not been considered blond.... although some people still say I'm blond, even according to my sister's beauty school teacher. Most people would descride my hair as "light brown," though.

It is now possible to prove beyond any reasonable doubt that the Union was beardier. Here’s how the research was carried out.
Beard-to-face ratio was calculated by adding B1 and B2, and dividing the sum by F1. A 0 means clean shaven, and anything greater than a 1 indicates a beard larger than the face.

So there you have it folks, irrefutable proof that the Union had the confederacy beat in the war of beards and tashes.
My completely scientific and professional academic opinion is that Confederates had better beards but the Union had better mustaches.
