Very nicely done (as always). Is this a new one, or something from the show? I don't recall seeing it before, but you did so many.
It's from the show, I stumbled upon it a day or so ago and thought I might post it. Most of the stuff I did for the show wasn't that great, mostly amputee or low quality images - the few I'm happy to show have already been shown unfortunately :frown:

You did some really great amputee images, but yeah, kind of tough to view. My show stuff has a few weeks to go next before I can release it.

Nice. Can you post the before and after pictures? That shows the amount of work you did and gives a sense of the difference the colors make.

You'll have to remind me of that when I'm back home, otherwise I'll plum forget!

NP Zuzah, I can help you out. It's a LOC image that can be found here. The only thing I would have changed is that I would have left the original case, it just has a beautiful look to it.

I would've kept the case, too, but Prometheus requested it be removed, sadly.

One word Layers! There was several images they asked me to change something different, I kept a separate layer version of my concept so I could go back to it. Anyway if you really wanted to you could just pull in the original B&W and lay it under the color work and get back to the frame if you need to.

Thank you like the pictures I'm just not sure if I like them better in color or not it just feels right in black and white.

The beauty of it is that you can always view them in B&W as originally shown. The color is more of an interpretation of what it "might" have looked like. This whole section on this forum is dedicated to colorized images. If you are not interested in them there are plenty of beautiful traditional B&W images.

For me the reason I colorize them is not because I don't appreciate the B&W images, but because I do. I have loved looking at these images for years and always thought it would be great to have a time machine and see these people and places in person. This is as close as I am going to come to that.

One last thing. Colorizing images is not new. This has been going on since the earliest days of photography. There are more than 1,000 examples of colorized images done during the Civil War by either the photographers assistant or the owner of the image. The difference is that when they did it during the 19th century they damaged the image to achieve the color. Today we can do it in Photoshop and always go back to the B&W at anytime.

Here is an example of a few period color image from the LOC.
